Individual Guidance

Individual guidance is an integral element of the spiritual path, either in an ongoing way or at key junctures in practice.

It is best to work with a teacher whom you can see in person for teachings and/or guidance. This may mean that you travel to attend teachings. Making this effort has been an effective way to receive spiritual guidance for millennia.

In the current world, technology allows connection to a teacher virtually, which can also be effective when done sincerely.

Working with Kim:

Practice discussion is a meeting with a teacher within a Dharma context. Each case is treated uniquely, but in general:

  • If you have a straightforward Dharma question, you may wish to send a message via the Contact link below. Perhaps I can answer in a simple way.

  • Sometimes a meeting is best. Please get in touch to schedule. I’ll be interested in your practice history, current daily practice, and any other teachers by whom you feel guided or inspired.

  • We can talk about additional practice discussions or ongoing guidance, as appropriate for your path and practice.

Mutuality

I view the teacher-student relationship as one of shared aim: we both want your liberation. We each bring appropriate resources to mutually support this aim. I offer guidance from lengthy practice and training. It helps if you bring sincerity and honesty. And financial support is part of it too. Individual guidance is dāna-based in the sense that I don’t have a fixed fee and no one is turned away for lack of financial resources. Please bear this mutuality in mind.
