Individual Guidance

Individual guidance is an integral element of the spiritual path, either in an ongoing way or at key junctures in practice.

It is best to work with a teacher whom you can see in person for teachings and/or guidance. This may mean that you travel to attend teachings. Making this effort has been an effective way to receive spiritual guidance for millennia.

In the current world, technology allows connection to a teacher virtually, which can also be effective when done sincerely (and it also allows teachers to extend teachings to many more people).

Here is some general guidance about how I serve as a teacher for individuals. Nonetheless, each case is treated uniquely.

• If you wish to speak with me:

  • Check out my recordings and writings to get a flavor of my teachings. Consider attending some of my teachings.

  • Before we have a practice discussion, please tell me a bit about your daily practice, as well as any other teachers by whom you feel guided or inspired

  • If you are seeking ongoing practice discussions: Please be aware that I do these with people who (1) I know because they attend my teachings, and (2) have already established a regular practice. Typically we would meet monthly (and for some, a longer interval feels fine).

• Mutuality: Connecting with a teacher is a relational form. This means that a financial offering is expected so that we have a clear relationship. Consider deeply the value of what you are receiving, and the typical cost of similar guidance relationships. (No one is turned away in a case of genuine hardship).
