The Contemplative Life
Uncontrived is a spiritual home and resource for practitioners of Western Buddhism.
Specifically, it’s a place to learn, practice, and share early Buddhist, classical Theravāda, and Insight teachings that can transform everyday life and lead to complete freedom of the heart and mind.
It is especially a place for those drawn to the contemplative life, that is, living these teachings directly. It is possible to live a life of deep Dharma aimed at awakening as a layperson here in the modern West.
When spiritual practice tugs at the heart, people begin to seek. Perhaps seeking what is true, or what is trustworthy. Perhaps seeking to heal, grow, learn, or understand. Perhaps becoming drawn to letting go, to love, or to service. How is it for you?
These pages offer teachings and writings that support discovering, realizing, and living the Dharma.
