Guided Meditation for Art Exhibitions
One of my innovative offerings is guided meditations that accompany art exhibits. Experiencing art is an internal process, a special interaction between the experiencer, the art, and the artist. When our perception is attuned and our body and mind calm, the experience is enhanced. We see art freshly, with more vibrancy and openness -- more possibility of meeting it directly.
I offer guided meditations at art exhibitions, often at the opening but also during regular viewing times. I can work with the curator and artist to convey the key themes, but often the meditation words are spontaneous based upon the audience.
One person told me afterward that she experienced so much more in the art after meditating that she wondered what else she was missing in her normal perception.
I have created various kinds of art, including music, painting, and pottery, but here my art is the flow of the words. I have also led guided meditations at memorial services and other contemplative settings. Please get in touch to learn more.
